This is me frolicking around before heading across the bridge to Tiburon in Marin County. Wearing my creation and feeling very Jetsons.
I haven't had much time lately to spend on projects since I've started working and will be starting a second job this upcoming Monday =) I am also in a transitioning stage and will be bumming with family and friends for the next half month to a month which means I don't have a space to do my projects. I must work hard so I can afford a simple studio for me and my sewing endeavors.

Oscar
The first look would be fabulous for the office and the second just pure fabulousness in itself. The furry skirt is giving me some diy inspiration.

Superhero is what I feel like when I wear this dress/tunic/cape thingy. Except I will most likely run instead of fight evil, just like the Justice League of Big Bang Theory. (Did anyone see that episode? I looove that show and am so happy Jim Parsons won Golden Globes for his stellar performance as Sheldon)
Dress was made through trial and error. I cut out a circle skirt, draped it on my body, poked holes for a belt loop, ended up sewing the side flaps shut for less fabric bulk on the sides, and adjusted the shoulders to fit. This dress has been getting quite a bit of wear from me since it is very comfortable and I feel very comfortable in it.
Total cost: $1.50 (for fabric from Walmart)
Also wearing:
Leggings and necklace from Forever 21
Shoes bought on Ebay
Next project.....
This Suzy Chin Wrap Dress Butterick 5320 in a Navy suiting fabric. It will be perfect for my "work" wardrobe I've been trying to build.

My latest project is this Mod-ish dress. I bought this fabric from Wal-Mart for $1.50 a yard, didn't know exactly what I would use it for but I just loved the sheer polka dots and had to have it. It's been sitting in my stash for awhile as I contemplated what it would become. Its a pretty stiff fabric with barely any stretch so I thought a Mod tent dress would be fitting and would be totally my style. I used the bodice of Simplicity 2444 pattern, lengthened it to my desire, didn't take in the darts, and added a gore at each side to get a triangular shape at the sides. It looks very feminine and 50's with a belt but I quite like it without a belt, more funk. This is also the first time that my binding actually looks nice and neat. I always have a difficult time with binding edges. You can't tell but the left armhole still needs binding, it needs a little ironing, and then I will be so ready to rock it.
Fabric: Walmart 1.50/yard @ 3 yards
Pattern: Simplicity Project Runway Collection #2444
Total cost: $4.50
